Summer Vacation #1

Jake and I spent a week in Virginia (Brian came down on the weekend) with my family. Though I don't think it was planned as such, in all reality, it was a family reunion with my parents, brother and niece, all my cousins, aunts & uncles, and grandparents (we missed you Kristen & Tyler and Dave & Kate!). We did all the things that we do in Irvington in the summertime--catching and eating crabs, swimming in the pool, lazing in the hammock, fishing off the dock, sailing on the water, staying up way too late talking and enjoying every moment of it. It was the first meeting of the Robinson grandkids, and Jake and Bailey had a good time together. I think my son revelled in all the attention, and his mama took full advantage of many capable, willing babysitters all week long. :)
The fourth of July fireworks were great, though I think the most memorable sight of the week for me was watching my boy shove cake in his mouth with both hands, and smearing it all over his face. He seriously couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough! (We had an early, double birthday party for Jake and Bailey, their birthdays only a week apart.)
As always, the time passed too quickly. It was so good to spend time with everyone and we can't wait to see you again soon!!

Congrats on having a 1 year old! Can you believe that is how old Harrison was when we met? I need your address to send a 4th of July picture. Are you coming to visit for a day?
